I’m Ward Sparacio
After 25 years as a business executive, my wife, Teresa Stewart (South Whidbey HS 1986) and I became foster parents. It became one of the most important and meaningful things I have done in my life. I immediately became a pro-child activist, going to Olympia to advocate for the children of diverse backgrounds and challenging circumstances that were under my care during my time as a foster dad.
Now, with two adopted children, enrolled in Coupeville schools, I am running for School Board as an extension of my passion to see that every child has an opportunity to succeed to the best of their abilities.
As a director, I will balance my passion for our children’s learning with my professional and executive experience. When elected, I will help provide our school district with effective strategic planning, responsible implementation, and efficient financial management.
Children are our greatest responsibility. We owe them an education that prepares them to thrive and contribute, whether it be in Coupeville or in a global environment. We must provide an education that teaches children critical thinking and the fundamental skills required in the real world. Our children must learn how to think, not what to think.
